Pick your industry and add your company
Planivex adapts to what you make. Choose candles, soap, skincare, cleaning, fertilizer or custom, and the calculators, fields and labels change to match.
- Switch industries any time from the sidebar. Each one keeps its own formulas and ingredients.
- Add your business name and address once (Inventory → Your company). It prints on labels, safety data sheets and purchase orders.
- The checklist on the Today page walks you through the first few steps and disappears when you're done.
Tip: Every industry starts with an example formula you can open, change or delete.
Add your ingredients
Your ingredient list is the foundation: cost, supplier, safety data and the properties the calculators need.
- Type a name and Planivex suggests typical values from its library (fragrance load, saponification value, nutrient analysis and more). Tap Fill typical values to use them.
- Enter the cost per lb, or log supplier quotes and let Planivex work out the real price per lb, even when packs are sold in kg, oz or gallons.
- Where to buy opens searches on Amazon, Google Shopping and the wholesalers for your industry, and drafts a quote-request email for suppliers who only sell by quote.
- Add the CAS number and hazard statements from your supplier's SDS, or upload the SDS PDF on the Import page and Planivex reads them for you.
Tip: Already have a spreadsheet? Use + New → Import to bring in ingredients and recipes in one go.
Build a formula
Enter ingredients in parts or percentages. Planivex does the math and checks it for you.
- Percentages, batch weights and industry numbers (fragrance load, lye and water, superfat, NPK guaranteed analysis, active % and more) update as you type.
- Checks warn you about things like fragrance over the wax's limit, a missing SAP value, a superfat that's too high, or a skincare ingredient over its max use rate.
- Save numbered versions with a note and restore any of them (Growth and Business).
- Add net contents per unit (for example 8 oz) and fill loss to see how many units a batch makes.
Price your product
The Pricing panel on each formula shows your true cost per unit and suggested prices.
- Cost per unit includes ingredients, fill loss, packaging (jar, lid, wick, label) and labor.
- Set a target margin and Planivex suggests wholesale and retail prices, rounded to clean price points.
- When an ingredient cost goes up, Planivex flags any product whose margin drops below your target on the Today page.
Make a batch
Scale any formula to the batch size you need and print a sheet for the person making it.
- Pick a formula and a batch size. Planivex shows exact weights and how many units you'll get, and tells you how many you can make with the stock on hand.
- Production mode shows one ingredient at a time in big type with check-offs, timers and notes, made for a phone or tablet on the bench.
- Finishing a batch gives it a lot number, uses up raw material lots (oldest first) and adds the finished units to inventory.
- Batch sheets print with a QR code that opens that lot in Planivex.
- Soap and candles get a cure or set time, so finished stock shows as curing until it's ready.
Tip: On Business, plan batches ahead on the Schedule and Planivex warns you if you'll run short of anything.
Track inventory and lots
Know what's on the shelf, what's running low, and exactly which raw material lots went into every batch.
- Receive raw materials with the supplier's lot number. Planivex tracks how much of each lot is left.
- Set reorder levels and low items show on Today. On Growth and Business, Planivex also drafts purchase orders grouped by supplier.
- Search any lot, batch, supplier lot or order number to trace it forward or back, for recalls, complaints or audits.
- On Growth and Business, record quality checks (pH, scent throw, appearance) against each batch. A failed check puts the lot on hold until it passes.
Print safety data sheets and labels
Planivex classifies your mixture from its ingredients and fills in the documents for you.
- Safety data sheets in the standard 16-section format, with GHS hazard pictograms, signal word and hazard and precautionary statements worked out from your formula.
- Add your own sections and notes, then print or save as PDF.
- Product labels in common sizes (4×6, 4×3, 3×2, 2×4) with the ingredient list, net contents, warnings, your business details and a lot number line.
- Fertilizer labels include the guaranteed analysis and derived-from list, cleaning products get their GHS hazard warnings, and you can add a California Prop 65 warning.
Tip: Generated documents are a starting point. Always check them against your suppliers' SDSs and the rules where you sell.
Bring in your team
On Growth and Business, invite people and control what each person can see and change.
- Owners and admins create an invite link on the Team page and send it by email or text.
- Choose a role: admin, formulator, production or viewer. On Business you can fine-tune which sections and industries each person sees and whether they see costs.
- Everyone works in the same workspace. Changes sync between people automatically.
- Need more people than your plan includes? Add a seat in one tap from the Team page ($12 per user per month, $9.60 billed yearly).
